Human Resource Officer

The Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham is seeking a qualified Human Resource Officer.

The Human Resource Officer is a mid-level position that works to mitigate risk within the organization. This position is responsible for employee benefits administration, recordkeeping, employee satisfaction, development, and retention. The Human Resource Officer assists in the hiring and termination processes, orienting process for new employees, assists with conflict management and resolution, and ensures that legal policies and best practices are being implemented with the organization. More broadly, the Human Resource Officer assists leadership in ensuring the organization is running productively, efficiently, and in compliance with state and federal laws.

Credentials and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or other relevant field. At least 1-3 years of job-related experience, preferably in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, or other relevant professional field.


Graduate Degree in Human Resources or Public Administration; PHR or SPHR certification.

Salary range: $33,000 to $68,000 depending on prior experiences.
