The Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham is seeking an Outreach Coordinator for the CommuteSmart (www.commutesmart.org) program. This position is responsible for the implementation of various outreach campaigns. The Outreach Coordinator reports to the CommuteSmart Program Manager. This position acts as the program’s connection to external users through presentations and campaign activities. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for implementing program directives and marketing available incentives.

 

Summary of the position is as follows:

 

Prepares and delivers presentations to organizations and groups to generate interest and support for program and projects. Acts as a liaison between Rideshare programs and partnering companies. Implements comprehensive outreach strategies, using knowledge of program products and incentives. Attends or participates in conferences or meetings to promote program and projects. Conducts research on consumer opinions and outreach strategies. Creates content and manages production for programs social media platforms and monthly email blasts. Distributes communication materials, advertisements, presentations and initiatives to promote project awareness and participation. Schedules, plans and executes outreach events with partners companies and outside agencies. Consults with clients to identify potential promotional opportunities. Identifies outreach channels for programs and projects. Supports existing marketing plans or campaigns. Assists in maintain outreach materials inventory. Prepares personal work plan to meet departmental objectives and expectations; schedules office and field activities to include data collection, research and meetings. Prepares project status reports, proposals, grants, and/or contracts; negotiates contractual agreements with contractors in compliance with procedures stipulated by Federal and State regulations; monitors progress of contracts or grants. Processes program and project invoices. Coordinators with appropriate RPCGB staff and outside consultants in prioritizing and implementing functional tasks toward accomplishments of program objectives. Communicates with the public and outside agencies concerning RPCGB program activities and projects: provides information and technical assistance. Assists the Program Manager and the Director of Operations in representing the RPCGB with boards, commissions and other groups related to program activities and projects. Provides customer service with callers, commuters and partner companies. Maintains accurate records of partner events. Maintains and updates partner contact information. Administers bid process and ordering of program promotional materials.

 

 

Credential and Experience Requirements are:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business or public administration, communications or other related field and at least 2 years of professional experience in the marketing or communications field.

OR

Graduate degree in marketing, business or public administration, communications or related field and at least 1 year of professional experience in the marketing or communications field.

Salary range for the position: $35,000 to $45,000 based on prior experience.

Expected Start Date: March 1, 2018
