Birmingham Biotechnology Hub is set to receive approximately $44 million in grant funding from U.S Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA)

The Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham is thrilled to learn the Birmingham Biotechnology Hub is set to receive approximately $44 million in grant funding from U.S Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA)! We are grateful to the leadership of Southern Research Institute in making the Birmingham-Hoover MSA a national center of biotechnology research and precision medicine. RPCGB is one of 23 national, state, and local entities that were part of the initial Birmingham Tech Hub application, and we are excited to see the biotech sector grow as an economic driver for the region.  We want to extend our congratulations to the Southern Research team and all partners on this funding.
